<--- back to EricMeyer's eternal hub of truth.

the infinite wisdom part

these writing projects are entirely open-source. anyone can add to them, anyone can take from them and anyone can change what is there. in the programing world this has created unbeatable bits of code such as unix and firefox. wikipedia took the idea and made a self-reviewing and updating encyclopedia out of it. the theory is, if everyone is fixing it, it should be fairly perfect. in the political world this is similar to the idea of democracy - which you'll find very few people actually believe in or care about these days.

my theory is the same as wikipedia. except with a play. the point is, with us all correcting each other's mistakes, we can't go wrong. the play we end up with will be the right one. correct. infallible. perfect. sublime. etc.

some credit for this idea goes to chuck mee jr and his play 'under construction' for which anyone can submit a scene. you should check it out. this is different. this is wiki. anyone can edit anything. that's why there are a few basic ground rules.

the law part

  • please don't delete anything. if something needs fixed or removed, just strike it out by adding {-curly brakets and dashes-} before and after it. like this.
  • do not submit any copywrought material. we don't want it, we can't use, and we'd rather not deal with it. thanks.
  • that said. nothing here is copywrought or will be unless otherwise noted. if anyone decides to copywright this open-source work, it will be under an open-source, creative commons license.
  • don't do other dumb things.

the way it works

you just click the 'edit' link at the top or bottom of the page. if you want to do any formatting, check out the 'basic editing' link for more info, or find some basic markup tips at the bottom of the editing page.

enjoy.
